Red Cross Shelters Remain Open for Wildfire Evacuees

The Red Cross continues to operate shelters for people forced to flee their homes due to the wildfires:
- San Fernando High School, 1133 O’Melveny Ave., San Fernando
- Hubert Humphrey Recreation Center, 12560 Fillmore Street, Pacoima, CA 91331
On Oct. 13, with twin wildfires burning in the San Fernando Valley, more than 1,300 people registered at the four American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles shelters opened for evacuees. Nearly 700 meals were served and 265 residents spent the night at the shelters. Volunteers are also providing mobile feeding to the hundreds of firefighters and first responders working to contain the wildfires.
