Actor David Spade, L.A. City Councilwoman Jan Perry and three local businesses were honored Nov. 17 at the Red Cross L.A. Region Heroes Breakfast at the California Club.

A Los Angeles Region of the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) comprised primarily of Santa Monica volunteers was on scene at 5:10 a.m.and provided emergency assistance for the victims by securing temporary housing and providing allowances for food and clothing.

City of Santa Monica recieves Heroes Award for work on creation of new Office of Emergency Management offcie for the city.

More than 200 people learned how to take basic steps to prepare for a disaster at the March 3 opening of the Red Cross L.A. Region’s interactive exhibit, PREPARE! You are the EPICENTER of Change. Hosted by the Good Works Space in Fred Segal Santa Monica, the display will be ongoing through the month of March.
