First Aid Stations

FAS Teams ready for the Tournament Of Roses 2011

First aid stations are frequently established at large gatherings, such as parades, conventions, and sporting events. They may also be used for small gatherings to avoid tying up emergency medical services (EMS) system resources. First aid stations are staffed with competent American Red Cross volunteer personnel who are trained and certified and know how to respond to victims of injury or sudden illness before the arrival of EMS personnel. First aid stations are designed to provide immediate, temporary care for injuries and sudden illnesses.

The San Gabriel Pomona Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is available based on availability of its volunteers to help establish and staff first aid stations at various events. Examples of events where American Red Cross had a first aid station include: Kennel Club of Pasadena’s Dog Show, Tournament of Roses Parade, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Industry Sheriff’s Station 999 Run for Kids and others.

To request a first aid station for your next event, download and complete the application and submit at least 30 days prior to the event to Richard Stewart, richards@cardinalpaint.com, Volunteer Emergency Services Specialist.

There are fees associated with first aid stations to assist with program cost recovery, so that we can continue to support our mission of helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
