Red Cross high school and college youth members are fanning out across Los Angeles this summer performing free puppet shows for preschoolers, ages 3-7, and their families about emergency preparedness, including earthquake readiness.
Using familiar Sesame Street character puppets, youth volunteers will perform the interactive disaster preparedness shows at 14 libraries during July and August (see locations below). No registration is required.
The show consists of three interactive, musical skits — Beat the Quake, Crawl Low in Smoke, and Stop, Drop, and Roll. Youth volunteers perform as puppeteers and practice safety drills with the children at the end of each skit.
