Sept. 5, 2008 — With Tropical Storm Hanna poised to hit the mid-Atlantic region over the weekend, and Hurricane Ike strengthening as it heads for Florida, the American Red Cross is preparing to help those people in the path of the storms. Los Angeles chapter volunteers are heading to the East Coast to work at disaster shelters, as 36 Los Angeles relief workers continue to assist people uprooted by Hurricane Gustav.
