On February 22, 2010, an all-star cast is participating in a benefit reading of the Los Angeles premiere of 110 Stories, by New York playwright Sarah Tuft, which weaves together more than thirty personal stories recorded in the aftermath of September 11th. The reading will take place at 8pm at the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood Village, with all net proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles.

A blend of characters allows for thirty-five perspectives to be shared, including those of an iron worker, cop, homeless couple, photojournalist, K9 handler, doctor, body worker, chaplain and volunteer. A firefighter will lead the journey through September 11th and into the recovery.

The celebrity cast includes:
Michael Beach (Third Watch, True Romance, Soul Food), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, Oz, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle), Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue, Grey’s Anatomy), Katharine McPhee (American Idol, The House Bunny), Gail O’Grady (American Dreams, Boston Legal), Stelio Savante (Ugly Betty, My Super Ex-Girlfriend), Sophie Sinise (CSI: NY, Anatomy of Gray), Diane Venora (Bird, Heat, The Insider), Narrated by Nic Harcourt (KCRW; Editor at Large: Music and Culture for LA: The Los Angeles Times Magazine). Other celebrity performers will be announced soon.

The reading will be directed by Mark Freiburger (Dog Days Of Summer); produced by Stelio Savante, Andrew Carlberg, & Lisa Smith and co-produced by Beverly Holloway.

A reception sponsored by Cape Classic Wines will be held immediately following the reading. To buy tickets, visit www.geffenplayhouse.com/110stories or call the Geffen Playhouse box office at (310) 208-5454.
