Haiti Relief: Red Cross Salutes Generosity of So Cal Residents

On behalf of Westwood Charter Elementary School, Alexandra Miller, third grade, gives a donation for Haiti relief to Red Cross representative Alex Rose.

Local residents have opened their hearts and pocketbooks to assist the American Red Cross with its humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti.

The Red Cross is providing a wide range of help and support in the form of food, water, relief supplies, field hospitals, emotional support, sanitation facilities and family linking services for the Haiti earthquake survivors.

“The Red Cross is on the ground now and will be there for the long term, thanks to the generosity of the American public,” said Paul Schulz, CEO, American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles. “We are so grateful for this outpouring of kindness.”

Millions of individuals have donated online, by mail, by texting, at local fundraisers and through their workplace. The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles thanks the following local media outlets, sports venues, sports teams, businesses, schools and other organizations that helped coordinate fundraising efforts:
