14th Annual ABCs of a Safe Summer

With summer approaching, kids and families will soon be rushing to pools and beaches to beat the heat. It’s important for families to learn the necessary lifesaving skills to respond to injuries that may occur during outdoor activities. That’s why the American Red Cross and ABC7 have teamed up for the 14th Annual ABCs of a Safe Summer.

From May through August the Red Cross will offer free and low-cost CPR, First Aid and Disaster Preparedness courses and demonstrations at events throughout Southern California. By providing low-cost safety training to the public, the hope is to empower the community with the knowledge to keep their children and family safe.

In order to make life-saving information more accessible, ABCs of a Safe Summer partners have developed informational tip-sheets on CPR, First Aid, Water, Fire, Electrical and Heat safety. These flyers will be available at various Red Cross events and by downloading them below.

ABCs of a Safe Summer partners include local Red Cross chapters, ABC7, the City of Los Angeles, City and County Fire Departments, the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and others.
