Are You Ready SoCal?

For the fourth consecutive year, the American Red Cross is partnering with ABC7 for its Ready SoCal Disaster Preparedness campaign. The campaign, which kicks off Sept. 1, coincides with National Preparedness Month.

The goal of Ready SoCal is to encourage Southern Californians to prepare for a major disaster and provide one central hub to obtain emergency preparedness information and resources at www.abc7.com/community.

Along with a series of public service announcements and commercials offering tips about fire safety, emergency supplies kit information and the importance of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, ABC7 will also air a disaster preparedness half-hour special on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 4 p.m.

This year’s partners and sponsors include Aetna, Kidde, Home Depot, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, USC Earthquake Center, County of San Bernardino Office of Emergency Services, Riverside County Fire Department Office of Emergency Services, COPE Preparedness, L.A. County Office of Education, L.A. County Office of Emergency Management and Ready OC.
