Mission of Red Cross

red-cross-shelterEstablished on Oct. 2, 1916, the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles is the second largest chapter in the nation. We serve more than 36 cities and a number of unincorporated areas, covering more than 1,600 square miles.

To reach a population of 6 million people, we have eight service centers located in communities around the Southland.

Chapter volunteers are prepared to respond around the clock, 365 days a year to assure that our services are provided when they are needed.

Chapter leadership is provided by a volunteer board of directors, elected from the communities served by the chapter.
