Anyone can save a life and everyone should know how.

This summer, take time to learn important lifesaving and water safety skills by participating in the 12th annual ABCs of a Safe Summer campaign, co-sponsored by ABC7, local American Red Cross chapters and other corporate, city and county organizations.

The public service campaign, which runs through July, provides safety information and educational events in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and San Bernardino Counties.

This year’s campaign focuses on CPR training and water safety with fun and informative events for the whole family. The popular “Splish Splash Family Fun Days” teach young and old how to stay safe in and around the water.

The Greater Los Angeles chapter will host a selection of discounted CPR classes in English and Spanish.

Sponsors include the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles and other local Red Cross chapters, ABC 7, First 5 LA, the Home Depot, L.A. Care, city and county fire departments, departments of parks and recreation and other community organizations.

For event schedule and to download PDF formatted safety tip sheets, please visit www.abc7.com.
