Ken Rieger is a retired aircraft maintenance instructor for TWA and American Airlines. He began volunteering for the Red Cross more than a year ago. Working for the airlines gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world for work as well as pleasure. But another of his passions has always been to help people. He was very active with the Boy Scouts, and coached both baseball and soccer. He is now the president of his Homeowners’ association, and a CERT volunteer. Since joining the Red Cross, Ken has worked on several single and multi family fires as well as the Wild Fires this past fall. Ken’s wife Linda is a school counselor, and he has three grown children and two grandkids.
Daniel Kopti has been a volunteer with the Los Angeles Chapter since January 2008. Daniel’s volunteer activities during 2008 included working at shelters for victims of the Marek and Sesnon wildfires, and at the family reunification center following the Metrolink commuter rail disaster. He is also a member of the Material Support Services committee. Daniel is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and currently resides in Lomita. He is employed as an in-house attorney for Wells Fargo Insurance Services.As we move forward, we also want to extend our appreciation to this group’s immediate predecessors, G. Anthony, Lynn Hurst and Art Rutherford, for their years of service in these positions. Please join me in welcoming Lisa, Paula, Ken and Daniel to their new positions.
