Mass Care Committee

Welcome to the Mass Care Committee (MC)!  The committee studies, develops and helps implement policy regarding Mass Care practices and procedures.

What is Mass Care? The mass care track provides activities and services on a congregate basis to the community as a whole, such as sheltering, feeding and bulk distribution. We have the essential mission to take care of those in need of shelter and feeding during natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, and single-family fires etc.

The MC group is composed of four specialties:

Bulk Distribution: Provides more than one item to more than one individual at one time. Traditionally this has been clean up items, flashlights, food coolers, gloves, etc.

Feeding: Provides snacks, meals, drinks and water using Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) or other vehicles on routes within the impacted area or at a fixed location such as community center.

Sheltering: Provides congregate care for people displaced due to disaster.

Community Programs: Provides information and services such as those provided at Emergency Aid stations. Reach out to meet community disaster caused needs.
