D.A.T. Mass Training Days a complete success…

dat-days-3-14-10-1In February and March 2010, scores of volunteers and staff came together for two long weekends to fulfill  Disaster Action Team training at the University of Southern California (USC). The trainings were held in order to increase the qualifications under the D.A.T. structure.

In total 292 Response team members attended the mass training. Courses ranging from Shelter Operations, to Mass Care to Client Casework were offered and in the end, 943 certificates were issued from the eighty seven classes held. Moreover, of the 200 Greater Los Angeles Chapter D.A.T.  Responders, 81 attended at least one class.

  • Collaborating to Ensure Effective Service Delivery
  • Fundamentals of Chapter Disaster Operation Management
  • Emergency Operations Center

D.A.T. days was deemed a tremendous success as not only were eighteen new members qualified to be D.A.T. responders and nine were qualified to be Duty Officers  (DDOs) and eleven Chapter Duty Officers (CDDOs), but is was a wonderful team building experience.
