Eric Brubaker from the Greater Los Angeles Red Cross donates supplies to Sharon Hudson, manager of the Fisher House in West Los Angeles.
The Greater Los Angeles Red Cross chapter donated more than 20 computers, a printer and American Red Cross Family First Aid Kits to the Fisher House in West Los Angeles to be used by veterans and their families.
Located on the grounds of the VA Hospital in West Los Angeles, the Fisher House serves as a temporary home for families of veterans receiving care at the hospital. The American Red Cross made the donation as part of its continuing effort to serve active military members and veterans.
The 16,000-square foot Fisher House has 21 private guest suites, each furnished with private bedding and adjoining bathrooms. Accommodations include a communal kitchen, dining room, and laundry facilities. Twenty-four hour support staff and volunteers are available to assist family members during their stay.
“The American Red Cross has a long tradition of supporting the men and women serving our country and it’s an honor to be able to help veterans and their families during times of need,” stated Eric Brubaker, program coordinator, Service to the Armed Forces.
