By the numbers…
Responding to emergencies:
- 338 responses to local disaster incidents
- 530 families supported during disasters
- 1,660 people received disaster assistance
- $549,541 direct financial assistance provided for disaster relief (food, clothing, hotel and rental assistance, household items and disaster health needs)
Increasing health, safety, & community disaster preparedness:
- 101,204 persons trained in CPR, first aid, aquatics, & water safety
- 11,438 persons took California Child Care, Nurse Assistance Training, Disaster preparedness and other Red Cross Health and Safety courses
- 13,943 Nurse Assistant certification tests administered
- 15,950 pieces of disaster education materials distributed
- 7,877 persons received community disaster education training
Serving the Armed Forces and helping to locate loved ones in war torn areas:
- 1,294 emergency services provided to Armed Forces & their families
- 927 National Guardsmen & family members receiving deployment briefings
- 183 international tracing and family services provided
Providing opportunities to serve & support:
- 2,825 instructors trained and authorized to teach Red Cross courses
- 1,440 volunteers provided direct service to the community
- 16,141 individuals, businesses, foundations and organizations donated funds to support the chapter
