About Us

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It does this through services that are consistent with its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross.

The Claremont Chapter has provided services to the residents of Claremont and neighboring communities since 1917.

The Chapter relies upon the generosity of the Community for contributions of both time and money in order to deliver its services.

The City of Claremont

Claremont is a wonderful community encompassing about 12 square miles of land at the base of the San Gabriel mountains in Los Angeles County, just 30 miles east of the city of Los Angeles.

The Foothill (210), San Bernardino (10), and Orange (57) Freeways provide access to Claremont and to the Claremont Chapter office area. Regional and local bus transportation is easily available.

The Metrolink, Southern California Regional Rail Authority’s commuter train system, connects commuters in six counties. Passengers boarding in Claremont may travel west to Los Angeles and east to San Bernardino, and make further connections beyond. Metrolink trains operate Monday through Friday, with some holiday exceptions.
