New Chief Communications Officer Named
The American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles has named Charlie Sardou as Chief Communications Officer, overseeing the chapter’s communications, public relations, public affairs, government relations, corporate partnerships and IT systems integration.
Sardou joined the Greater Los Angeles chapter in 2008 as a consultant and served as Interim Chief Communications Officer prior to being promoted to his current position.
One of Sardou’s responsibilities is to lead the chapter’s PrepareLA+ campaign, which is aimed at providing comprehensive disaster planning information and tools to businesses, organizations and residents.
Before joining the American Red Cross, Sardou was the Director of Media for iCrossing, OMMA magazine’s 2005 Search Agency of the Year. During his tenure at iCrossing, he created marketing strategies for clients including Citibank, Disney, Symantec, Betty Crocker, AG Edwards, Ross Simons, Mary Kay, Fairmont, Restoration Hardware, and ESPN.
Sardou also consulted for Overture and served as e-commerce manager for ShopD.com, a website designed to sell offshore private label products.
Sardou holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UC Berkeley and an MBA in marketing from Wake Forest.
