Who Can Give?

Eligibility

  • Are you 17 years old or older?
  • Do you weigh 110 pounds or more?
  • Are you generally in good health?

If you answered Yes to these three, simple questions, then you can probably donate blood. Most people can!

When you arrive at a blood drive, a trained American Red Cross staff member will determine your eligibility to donate. There are conditions and circumstances that can make a person temporarily or indefinitely ineligible to donate blood.

Remember to Bring ID
When you come to donate blood, please bring some form if identification. An American Red Cross blood donor card, a driver’s license or a work place ID are all good options.
